David W. Smith

David Smith is vice president of business development and operations for Vizient Southern States. He is a licensed insurance agent in all 50 states with extensive experience in building and managing risk pools for employee benefits. Mr. Smith has consulting experience working with a wide range of businesses—from medium-sized organizations to large enterprises—in the health care and hospitality industries.

 

Prior to joining Vizient Southern States, Mr. Smith was the national employee benefits leader for Vizient Inc. In this role, he managed several insurance risk pools representing approximately $500M in annual premiums, specialized in aggregation strategies to reduce costs, had extensive experience in medical stop loss, and built an extensive distribution team of regional and national consulting partners.

 

Mr. Smith completed his undergraduate work at Wichita State University and Newman University.
